Citizens Police Academy
"A great opportunity to learn about your police service, what we do, and how we do it."
Kingston Police is proud to announce the return of the highly successful Citizens Police Academy Program. This program provides opportunities for members of our community to learn about their local police service, with exposure to see first-hand what we do and how we do it.
The candidates will be given the opportunity to view numerous areas of the service and some of our community partners. The Academy will provide demonstrations, presentations, and voluntary participant interactions.
Topics may include:
- Kingston Police organizational structure
- Use of Force training
- Traffic services demonstration
- Patrol Officer involvement to discuss day-to-day policing
- Communications 911 unit
- Criminal Investigations unit
- Forensic Identification unit
- Emergency Response Team
- Court Services/Crown Attorney
- Intelligence Branch
- Canine demonstration
