Information Technology (IT) is responsible for installing, maintaining, and updating all software, hardware, and peripheral devices utilized by our officers and civilian members.

Software knowledge and programming expertise may include everything from mobile applications used by officers on the road, dispatching software needed by our communications staff, and windows-based programs, databases, and record-keeping software needed throughout the organization.

Hardware and peripheral device technical experience includes radio communications, desktop and mobile computers, smartphones, printers, servers, and all the required networking.

Not only does our IT staff work diligently on proactive updates and maintenance of all the software, hardware, and peripheral devices, they also train all members on their use and assist them with any issues that may arise.

The unit is comprised of 5 members, the Director, an IT Analyst-Systems and Security, 2 IT Application Support Analysts, and an IT Help Desk Technician.

Candidates must have the certifications and training as stated in the relevant job posting. They must also be dedicated to on-going learning and professional development to be up to date on the latest technology.

IT staff must be efficient and effective at maintaining and updating the critical technology utilized by our officers and civilian members. Another essential skillset is the ability to train and assist our civilians and officers in the use of all software and hardware.
