The Youth In Policing Initiative (YIPI) offers employment with Kingston Police for youth 15 to 18 years of age who reside in the City of Kingston.

Civilian Posting

This is a paid student position running for 8 weeks, 40 hours/week. This position also requires some flexibility involving shift changes depending on Community Events. 

To qualify for the Youth in Policing Initiative Student position, applicants must:

  • Be between the ages of 15-18
  • Reside in the City of Kingston
  • Be currently enrolled in secondary school
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada

Selection

As a part of the selection for this position, all applicants may be assessed through a resume review, interviews, and background investigation. Interviews will be conducted in person at the Kingston Police Headquarters and/or virtually to accommodate all applicants during the recruitment process.
