Collision with Hydro Pole Results in Power Outage and Impaired Driving Charges

At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 a blue Nissan Pathfinder struck a hydro pole in the area of Woodbine Rd and Nottinghill Ave. The pole came down, causing sparking live wires and a power outage to some west-end residents. The 45-year-old male driver was located on scene, was assessed by paramedics and then arrested for impaired driving. He was found to have more than two times the legal limit of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle, and was additionally charged. He was released from the police station on Promise to Appear with a future court date. His driver’s licence is automatically suspended for 90 days and would see a minimum one year’s suspension upon conviction.
