Crime Prevention Week: Safer Communities, Stronger Ontario

Today, Kingston Police kick off Ontario’s annual Crime Prevention Week, which runs from November 8 to the 13, 2021. The week-long promotion of crime prevention is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), the Ministry of the Solicitor General, and police services across Ontario.

As the current issues with the COVID-19 pandemic continue, many people in our community are feeling anxious and this makes these times especially important to come together to prevent crimes before they start. Many crimes are preventable and Crime Prevention Week is a great opportunity for Kingstonians to think about what they can do to keep their families, neighbourhoods, schools, and workplaces safe from criminal activities.

Ontario communities are among the safest in the world. But community safety and well-being takes hard work and collaboration. That’s why Kingston Police is proud to partner with government, community leaders, young people, and businesses to prevent crime throughout our community.

During the week, Kingston Police will showcase four of their Community Partners, The Rotary Club of Kingston, Cycle Kingston, St. Lawrence College and The Kingston Police Community Volunteers. Please join us on line to hear how each organization contributes to our amazing Community and how they work with the Kingston Police in crime prevention.
