Release Date: February 1, 2024

24-3348

On January 30, 2024, at approximately 8:35 p.m. police responded to a call regarding an individual causing a disturbance at a restaurant near the intersection of Princess Street and Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard in midtown Kingston.

Upon police arrival further investigation revealed that the accused had been asked to leave the premises multiple times over the course of an hour, however, refused to comply with these requests.

The accused had been asked to leave due to causing a disturbance inside the restaurant and attempting to access a locked display case near the front cash. The disruption by the accused had caused a significant delay in other patrons being able to order their food.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. the accused was placed under arrest. While being taken into custody the accused was combative with police.

The accused was subsequently transported to police headquarters where they were held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

A 26-year-old local individual was charged with causing a disturbance and mischief under $5000.
