Downtown arrest leads to additional charges

On June 13, 2024, at approximately 2:00 p.m. the Downtown Foot Patrol Officers were doing routine bicycle patrol along the waterfront path near Ontario Street and Earl Street when they observed an individual sitting in a stairwell.

 

The individual was observed to be in possession of drug paraphernalia amongst other items. Upon speaking to the individual, it was discovered they were currently wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court.

 

The individual was subsequently arrested on the strength of the warrant. Upon searching the individual, officers located multiple pieces of identification belonging to numerous people in the individual’s possession. Through course of investigation, it was determined some of this identification had previously been reported stolen. 

 

A 49-year-old Kingston individual was charged with three counts of possession of property obtained by crime. The individual was transported to the Kingston Police headquarters where they were held for a bail hearing.
