Downtown arrest leads to drug and weapons seizure.

On August 30, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m. the Kingston Police Urban Foot Patrol officers were conducting patrol in the area of Queen Street and Wellington Street when they observed an individual passing a pipe to another individual.

 

Upon approaching the individuals, officers observed one of them to be in possession of an open pouch containing multiple dime bags of crystal methamphetamine as well as Canadian currency.

 

The individual was immediately placed under arrest. Upon searching the individual, officers discovered two throwing axes concealed in a sheath in the individuals rear waistband.

 

A 36-year-old Kingston individual is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace and carry concealed weapon. They were transported to Kingston Police Headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
