On July 31, 2024, the Kingston Police Urban Foot Patrol Officers were conducting patrol in the downtown core when they encountered an individual who was known to them and observed to be breaching conditions of a recent probation order.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. foot patrol officers observed an individual on the property of a local church located in the area of Princess Street and Clergy Street.

The officers, who were aware this individual was prohibited from being at this location as part of conditions from a recent probation order, placed the individual under arrest.

A search of the individual incident to arrest revealed the individual was in possession of weapons and was concealing them inside a bag they had in their possession. Officers seized a collapsible baton, baton holder, large buck knife and knife sheath from the individual.

A 33-year-old individual from Kingston was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon along with 8 counts of breach of probation. They were transported to Kingston Police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
