Individual arrested and charged with mischief after damaging a Kingston Transit bus window

The accused had been riding a Kingston Transit bus and had just gotten off in the area of Portsmouth Avenue north of King Street West in midtown Kingston. At approximately 11:30 a.m., while the bus was stopped to pick up other passengers, and for reasons unknown, the accused proceeded to punch one of the windows of the bus causing it to break.

 

The accused then left the scene. No passengers were injured as a result of this act of mischief and no other damage was incurred.

 

Police responded and located the accused in the area of Lower University Avenue and King Street West.

 

At approximately 12:15 p.m. the accused was arrested and subsequently transported to police headquarters where they would be held for a bail hearing.

 

The 31-year-old individual was charged with mischief under $5000 and two counts of breaching probation.
