International Police Hockey Tournament donates $35,000 to Bloom Skills.

In February of 2024 the Kingston Police hosted the 61st annual International Police Hockey Tournament. The tournament, which was held over two days consisted of 104 teams comprised of over 1500 Peace Officers.

 

A total of $48,207 was raised through registration, community sponsorships, silent auction, raffles and a 50/50 draw.

 

The tournament’s main charity, Bloom Skills, which offers accessible skills training and learning opportunities for young adults with intellectual and developmental exceptionalities received a $35,000 donation. The remainder of the funds raised are being donated to various charities and bursaries within the community.

 

On May 15, 2024 Amber Potter, Founder and Executive Director of Bloom Skills attended the Kingston Police Station to receive the donation which was presented by Chief Scott Fraser.
