Kingston Police request public’s assistance in on going investigation.

Investigators with the Kington Police Major Crime Unit are requesting the public’s assistance investigating an incident which occurred on November 5, 2024.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. on November 5, 2024, a resident in the area of Champlain Avenue observed an individual committing a property crime. The resident confronted the individual at which point the resident was assaulted with an edged weapon. The resident received non-life-threatening injuries as a result of this assault.

Police responded to the area and commenced an investigation which included a K9 search.

Police are asking residents in the Strathcona Park Subdivision—from Princess Street north to John Counter Blvd, and from Sir John A. Macdonald Blvd west to Portsmouth Ave—to review their home surveillance footage from the past 48 hours (November 4–5, 2024). 

Residents are being asked to check for any unwanted individuals who may have entered their property during this timeframe.

The individual investigators are looking for is described as wearing a black jacket with a fur-lined hood, light-colored pants, and gray shoes with white soles.
