Kingston Police seek public’s assistance in locating wanted suspect
Through the course of investigation members of the Kingston Police Criminal Investigations Division have identified the unknown driver of the pickup truck involved in this incident.
On October 9, 2024, an arrest warrant for the offences of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, leave accident scene, accessory to a dual procedure offence and mischief endangering life was issued for 34-year-old Matthew Johnson-Wiltshire of Kingston.
Investigators are also asking the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle Johnson-Wiltshire was operating at the time of the offence. It is described as a black 2017 Dodge Ram bearing Ontario license plate BY26651. The truck should have significant front-end damage including a missing passenger side headlight assembly which was recovered by police. The truck also has two different styles of tire rims on the passenger side.
The attached photos of the truck were taken prior to the incident and the truck is believed to be more heavily damaged at this point.
Police are asking the public not to approach Johnson-Wiltshire if seen and to contact police immediately by dialing “911”.

The Kingston Police are seeking the public's assistance investigating a break and enter which occurred in the City’s east end.
On September 28, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m. three suspects entered a residence located in the area of Highway 2 and Rogers Side Road. Unbeknownst to the suspects the homeowner along with other family members were home inside the residence at the time.
Upon hearing noises coming from the hallway, one of the family members exited a bedroom to investigate and discovered an individual holding a flashlight standing in the hallway. The family member managed to alert the other occupants inside the home who came to their aid and pursued the suspects out of the home.
Once outside, the suspects attempted to flee in a vehicle while being pursued by the homeowner. The homeowner managed to use a vehicle to block the suspects and their vehicle at the end of a near by cul-de-sac preventing them from escaping.
Police were contacted, however prior to police arrival a pickup truck being operated by an unidentified person intentionally drove into the driver’s side door of the homeowner’s vehicle. Fearing for their safety the homeowner retreated to their residence.
Officers attended the area and located two of the suspects inside the vehicle used to flee the residence. The third suspect had already fled the area with the pickup truck as well as the unidentified driver of the truck.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that one of the suspects had attended the homeowner’s residence earlier in the day and had broken in. Believing that the house was unoccupied the suspect, this time accompanied by two other suspects returned to residence that evening.
In the following days further investigation revealed the identity of the third suspect who had fled with the unidentified driver of the truck.
On September 29, 2024, a 50-year-old female from Kingston was arrested and charged with break and enter with intent. The female was transported to Kingston Police Headquarters where she was held for a bail hearing.
On September 29, 2024, a 42-year-old female from Kingston was arrested and charged with break and enter with intent and obstruct police. The female was transported to Kingston Police Headquarters where she was held for a bail hearing.
On October 1, 2024, a 41-year-old male from Kingston was arrested and charged with break and enter with intent. He was transported to Kingston Police Headquarters and held for a bail hearing.
Members of the Kingston Police Criminal Investigations Division continue to investigate this incident in hopes to identify and locate the driver of the pickup truck as well as the truck itself.
The truck is believed to be either a 2016 or 2017 Dodge Ram, dark in color, possibly grey. It is believed the truck will have significant front-end damage including a missing passenger side headlight.
