Kingston Police Special Constables charged after external investigation

Two members of the Kingston Police have been charged by the Ottawa Police Service after they investigated the actions of two Special Constables which occurred while they were on duty.
 
On February 27, 2025, S/Cst. Chris Nadeau and S/Cst. Chad Mandigo were each charged with one count of assault and one count of aggravated assault in relation to an incident that occurred while on duty in June of 2024.
 
The Kingston Police were first made aware of the incident on July 3, 2024, and an investigation was commenced resulting in the Special Constables being suspended. The Ottawa Police were contacted in order to conduct an independent investigation into the incident. 
 
The Special Constables were arrested by the Ottawa Police Service and subsequently released with a future court date. Both Special Constables are suspended without pay.
