Man Charged with Assault after Spitting on Victim

On August 3, 2022, at approximately 9:35 a.m. the accused attended a local shelter and during interaction with staff he became agitated and started throwing aground garbage. The accused then spit in the face of a staff member who attempted to calm him down.

The accused was still nearby on police arrival and was subsequently arrested.

The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was released on conditions with a future court date.

A 21-year-old local man was charged with assault and breach probation.
