Month long investigation leads to large drug seizure

Over the course of the month of November members of the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit received information involving an individual actively involved in the sale and distribution of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine within Kingston.
An investigation commenced which culminated in a traffic stop on November 29, 2024, in the Highway 401 and Odessa area. The individual was arrested without incident and a further Justice authorized Controlled Drugs and Substances search warrant was initiated at their residence in Bath, Ontario.
During the search of the associated vehicle and the residence; officers with the Special Services Unit located approximately 1013.5 grams of cocaine, 336 grams of crystal methamphetamine and a large amount of Canadian currency. The street value of the items seized is estimated to be approximately $135,000.
The individual, a 48-year-old Bath resident was charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Breach of Release Order. The individual who was already on a judicial release order for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Crime was transported to Kingston Police Headquarters and held for a bail hearing. If convicted of these offences the individual could face a maximum penalty of imprisonment for life.
The Kingston Police Special Services Unit continues to utilize community engagement coupled with intelligence gathering to ensure successful targeted operations against individuals and groups trafficking toxic drugs on the streets of our community.
