Police arrest individual in possession of replica handgun and drugs.

On August 14, 2024, members of the Kingston Police Patrol Division were patrolling the area of Third Avenue and Alfred Street when they conducted a traffic stop in relation to a Highway Traffic Act violation.

While speaking to the driver of the vehicle officers observed the end of a handgun sticking out of a bag another occupant in the car was wearing. As a result of this observation the occupants were ordered to exit the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the occupants and vehicle lead to the discovery of a replica Glock 17 handgun, a prohibited knife as well as a quantity of crystal methamphetamine and psilocybin mushrooms.

The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old Kingston individual, was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 21-year-old passenger also from Kingston was arrested and charged with possession of weapons dangerous to the public peace, possession of a prohibited device, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a schedule III substance.
