24-35158

The Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit recently ended a month-long project with the department’s largest seizure of fentanyl to date.

The operation concluded with the arrest of three individuals who had been trafficking drugs into the community. The three accused were operating within two apartment units located in the Queen Mary Road and Bath Road area. Search warrants were conducted with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit resulting in the confiscation of drug related paraphernalia, large quantities of Canadian currency and over 1.3 kilograms of fentanyl with a street value of $198,000.

A 62-year-old male, along with a 50-year-old male and a 52-year-old female all of whom are from Kingston, were charged jointly with 3 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime. All three were transported to Kingston Police headquarters where they were held for a bail hearing.

This seizure along with other recent fentanyl investigations represents a significant disruption to local drug trafficking networks and is expected to have a lasting impact on the community's safety.

The Kingston Police Special Services Unit will continue to work diligently to protect the community from the dangers of illegal narcotics. Citizens are encouraged to report suspicious activities and utilize the online reporting portal if applicable.
