Police seek public’s assistance with assault investigation

On November 25, 2024, at approximately 5:50 p.m. a resident in the area of MacDonnell Street and First Avenue was attacked in their backyard with what is believed to be an edged weapon.

The resident, who sustained injuries which required several stitches contacted the police who searched the area; however, the suspect had fled prior to police arrival.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 30-40 years old, 5’9, 200lbs wearing a black hat with a white logo and a black puffy coat. The suspect was also described as having a medium length beard.

Police are asking residents in the area of Macdonell Street (North of Concession Street), First Avenue, Connaught Street (North of Concession Street) and Concession Street to check doorbell and/or security camera footage on November 25, 2024, between the hours of 5:40 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. for anyone matching the suspect description.
