Section of Montreal Street Closed for Investigation

UPDATE:

Montreal Street between Briceland St and John Counter Blvd has now been re-opened.

Kingston Police with the assistance of OPP have completed an investigation into information regarding a suspicious package. Police have verified there is no explosive device in the area, and it is now safe for pedestrians and vehicular traffic.

Kingston Police would like to thank the public for their understanding and cooperation in this matter.

 

ORIGINAL POST:

Kingston Police are involved in an on-going investigation in the area of John Counter Blvd and Montreal Street.

Northbound and southbound Montreal Street between Briceland St and John Counter Blvd is temporarily closed for vehicular and pedestrian traffic. John Counter Blvd and the Waban Crossing itself are open to traffic.

Kingston Police will advise when the section of Montreal Street is re-opened, until then please avoid the area.
