Fleet Services

“We keep the Police on the move”

Fleet Services is responsible for the entire motor pool and are tasked with repairing and maintaining the more than 120 vehicles in the Kingston Police inventory.

Fleet Services is comprised of three part-time Fleet Assistants, and one full-time Mechanic. They are a very busy team because Kingston Police vehicles are in service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and it can therefore be a challenge getting the cruisers and other vehicles in for regular servicing.

In addition to performing all running repairs on the fleet such as changing tires and brakes, oil changes, replacing torn wiper blades, dead batteries, fluids, and anything else that wears out with the general wear and tear on a vehicle, Fleet Services also addresses any specific or custom issues that arise. They keep the Kingston Police moving.

Part-time Fleet Assistants have very flexible shift options. Shifts are typically scheduled between Monday and Friday between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm, however, weekend and evening shifts are also available. Typically shifts are 4 hours. Candidates will gain a broad variety of experience with all the different makes and models of vehicles in the fleet.

Do you have what it takes?

Candidates must be dependable, motivated, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. They must also be able to perform the physical aspects of the job.
