Internet Child Exploitation Unit

“We patrol the digital shadows.”

The Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit is a highly advanced, technologically sophisticated unit that pursues sexual predators online; specifically, those who would harm children. ICE Detectives come from a variety of investigatory backgrounds but have one focus – to prevent the exploitation of children.

The ICE Unit is staffed by Detectives and a Digital Forensic Examiner. Together, their task is to investigate crimes against children online, specifically cases of child pornography and instances of child luring. This unit is driven to arrest and charge those who commit offences against children.

ICE investigators receive reports from a variety of sources, including complaints and electronic traces. They review each report and follow up with an extensive investigation. ICE Detectives write search warrants and seize electronic devices for forensic analysis. These devices are then scrutinized for evidence in support of charges at Court.
